Shoe of the week

Image
I've just returned from a girl's weekend in Chester where the weather has been glorious, the perfect weather to browse the shops and have a few drinks on a garden terrace. Having these shoes ,with their flatform style, would have made it more perfect for negotiating those cobbled streets whether I was carrying shopping bags or coping with the after-effects of Cherry-cola alcohol shots (far nicer than they sound).

These shoes would be my nod to the pastel trend this year.  #justsaying

Hitting the three year mark

On our way to say 'I DO' Three years ago today, I was in Las Vegas getting ready to be married.  I don't know where the time has gone, it doesn't seem like I've been a 'Mrs' for three years.  The picture on this post is us setting off to meet our destiny.  I wasn't nervous at this stage but that all changed once we got to the chapel and the minister gave us our pre-wedding chat.  I can't even remember what he said but I was so nervous throughout the ceremony, that I was constantly blinking and my husband-to-be's hand was shaking that much that we could have been deemed a fire hazard when lighting our wedding candle! Instead of the sunny Las Vegas strip this weekend, I might be walking the Clifton Suspension Bridge  as we are off on a trip to Bristol.

With the recent launch of the MARNI at H and M I had to choose my shoe of the week from the collection.  Unfortunately, our local H and M doesn't stock the collection so I haven't had chance to take a proper look but I like what I see online.    I posted the collection's advert that was filmed by Sofia Coppola . If you're not aware of her work then all I can say is that some of her films can be beautiful and dreamy like The Virgin Suicides .

Are you having a staycation this year?

Image
I was feeling a bit sorry for myself today, thinking about the fact that my husband and I haven't been on holiday since 2010. We aren't going anywhere this year, except for some short visits to Chester and Bristol, so while they are nice places to visit, there aren't really a holiday. But then I saw this video and thought, that having a stay-cation isn't a bad thing after all.

With the spring/summer trends for pastels, these shoes from Aldo might be the perfect accessory for the warmer months.  They are a bit 'full-on' so I think you need to confidence to pull of a great look with these.  The colour reminds me of hubba-bubba bubblegum. . . . Or perhaps the only person who can carry they off would be Nicki Minaj or Barbie.
