Shoe of the week

Image
Where did our summer go? I've only got chance to wear my sandals for a couple of days this year.  So now I'm packing them away and preparing for the colder months which have already started here in Blackpool.   Wet and windy are the only words I can use to describe the weather over the past week.  So I need a shoe that keeps me high above ground and able to skip over the puddles. These Topshop lovelies will do the trick.

Let's get wed

My wedding shoes I've been meaning to write this post for a while, it's taken a wedding and meeting a couple of brides-to-be to finally push me into action. Shoes are becoming the second most important decision to make after the dress, google 'wedding shoes' and you currently get 316,000,000 results to choose from, there are plenty of options to choose from.  They are bought, borrowed or given.  They're either chosen to make a statement, there's a personal reason for wearing them (the something old...something new...tradition) or simply they'll provide comfort on the Big Day; taking you from a walk down the aisle to your first wedding dance without the need for regular rest periods and corn plasters! My wedding shoes cost £20 from New Look back in 2008.  My wedding had a non-existent budget and very little time for wedding-planning - we decided to get married in August 2008, booked the Vegas chapel in January 2009 and got wed

'Her name was Lola, she was a show girl' or should that be shoe girl? This week's shoe from Blink at nelly.com is a monochrome affair, perfect when you want to keep things simple.

Shoe of the week

I've chosen a shiny shoe this week. I love the heel, the height, the bow on the front, its shiny-ness, everything about it really. I want these shoes and I understand that my husband does check out my blog every so often, for interest of course (or is it to keep tabs on my shoe collection?).  So, for potential birthday ideas, something for my christmas list or just an everyday/anyday present, please consider the above . . .  in a size 6.    Available from Love Label at Very - just in case you were interested. xx

Believe it or not but these are shoes! Designed by Julian Hakes , the Mojito shoe could be used as a work of art rather than a mode of transport.  Available online at Cloggs online - do you dare to be different?

Today I will be on shoe patrol

Today its my cousin's wedding and it will be the first time I've had chance to wear my Louboutins.  I'm a bit nervous about this and I've already scotch-guarded them ready for the day [I can't imagine Posh Spice doing this somehow].  I've already been forewarned that the soles are very delicate so it will be interesting to see how they look at the end of the day. I have had a sneak preview of the bride's gorgeous shoes (vintage-inspired) so I can't wait to post pictures later. And I'm going to be really brave today and ask to take pictures of people's shoes so I can post them on my blog and pintrest pages.  I got some great business cards from Vistaprint , to hand out, so hopefully people will not think I have some bizarre foot fetish!  As a 'starter for ten', I can show you what my Auntie Debbie will be wearing today, some lovely Ruby Shoo heels from TwinkleToes , a shoe boutique in our local town.  We need shops like these,

The hen do that wasn't a drag

Girls on film This is a bit of a late posting, writing about a hen do from a couple of weeks ago, when the wedding is in just a few  hours away! But I wanted to share a few of the pictures that I managed to salvage from the day. Starting with a buffet at the Bride-to-Be's home, with a live DJ literally on the decking.  Everyone provided a bit towards the buffet, so I made my cupcakes, tried to make them a bit wild and girly, using so fabulous cup cake cases from Morrisons which were leopard print (grrr).  It was also bring a bottle so I brought a bag of ready made mojito in a bag [tres classy] from Home Bargains.  Its quite potent, but with some soda or lemonade and ice, its not a bad drink. So after partying on the decking, we made our way to Funny Girls is a cabaret burlesques showbar in Blackpool where the cast is made up of male dancers and drag performers.  Housed in a former Odeon Cinema and decorated Art Deco style, Funny Girls is a beautiful bar which I'd say was
