'Tis the season to be jolly! Wishing you all have a fabulous Christmas! xxx

Shoe of the week

If you can't wear glitter at Christmas, then when can you wear it? For Cinderellas on a budget, these glittery heels mean you can go to the Ball in style, just don't forget what happens at Midnight!

And the celebrations started early . . .

I received an early Christmas present with the news that I have passed the CIPR Advanced Certificate in PR.  Its been a long, hard year, trying to balance work, life and college but I've done it.  Naturally this was a great opportunity to celebrate with a Porn Star Martini at the Revolution Bar in Blackpool.

Keeping warm and chic

Shoes from Las Vegas, tights  Rombo Grandi from Veneziana  Another day, another outfit . . . With gale force winds in not-so-sunny Blackpool, keeping wrapped up and warm is a necessity. While my workwear is currently the standard black dress and cardie, dressed up with a vintage brooch, my legwear is becoming a bit more adventurous with these tights from Veneziana .  I love these tights and accessorized them with this t-bar shoes to create a 'monochrome monday' outfit.

Is it really less than two weeks until Christmas?  Then there is still time to get something special for the festive season. Its the perfect excuse to wear something as bright and glittery. Taking inspiration from Christmas baubles, I've found these Ted Baker shoes that will give someones Christmas that little bit of sparkle.

Schuh had a recent Facebook competition to win a pair of these gorgeous Lindy Ho p shoes.  I knew I had to try for a chance in winning a pair of shoes that rival those Ruby slippers from Oz (can you tell I've been to see Wicked recently?). To win a pair of these Red or Dead shoes, I had to leave a Facebook comment telling Schuh the strangest place I've ever found myself dancing.  I was one of three lucky ladies...I knew that attending a party in a disused morgue would one day come in handy!   On New Years Eve 2000, I attended a private party at a old-school morgue - think mortuary slabs used for the DJ's decks, cold store cupboards used to keep the beers and bottles cool.  It was a really spooky, think the opening scene in Blade to get an idea of the vibe created by the unique venue. So my winning entry meant that I got these beauties less than two days later.  After care consideration and consultation with friends and family, I chose a pair in red.  Per

I've been trying out some more products from the lovely people at Veneziana . Rather than stick to tights, I've been trying out their ankle socks, over the knee stockings and knee highs. The Opera Nero knee highs in black are really pretty, quite a difference to my normal opaque tights, I felt like a grown up Wednesday Addams .  Received lots of comments from my family on the pretty floral pattern.  Lovely to wear, great quality and most importantly easy to wash.   Veneziana  has a lot to offer for a girl with too many shoes!

Sweet treat

It was my 42nd birthday on Tuesday and surprisingly I got a shoe box shaped parcel to open . . . I'd previously blogged about these shoes a few weeks ago, nominating them as a shoe of the week, so its nice to put my or should I say my husband's 'money where my mouth is' and buy the shoes that I chosen. Opening the Tutti Fruiti shoes was like unwrapping some sweets!   Layer upon layer of loveliness before revealing the shoes in hot pink and orange. I've got my pointy stiletto groove back on. Each shoe has its own individual shoe bag, perfect for packing in a suitcase. And I should give a final mention to the glitter soles, what more could a 'shoe-aholic' wish for?  Perhaps a fabulous outfit and a nice cocktail to go with them! sweet shop style wrapping paper, great to keep with the Kandee Shoes concept glitter soles, perfect for a disco diva A little extra, cute card holder

Its the first of December, time to get those Christmas plans kick-started.  Glitter should be an essential part of your party wardrobe.  During December, my shoe of the week posts will be dedicated to pursuit of all shoes sparkly. These shoe boots from Next would be the perfect way to get your 'glitter on' ladies.  Happy Shopping!

Cutey - tooty

Its that time of year when the weather constantly changes; one minute its sunny, the next minute we've got freezing fog.  Keeping fashionably chic and warm is a constant compromise between living in my UGGs and freezing my toes off in a pair of heels. So, these cute Milano ankle socks from Veneziana are the perfect way for me to wear my heels and stay warm this winter.  With their rose pattern these are far too pretty to hide away under a pair of boots.

Its time to buckle up and get those boots on, the cold snap is here!

Shoes in the news

Charity begins at home I love all the recent stories of celebs donating their shoes to raise money for good causes. I'm struggling to give up a pair of Matalan shoes to Ebay, let alone donating them to charity! Party on Here are some great tips on saving your party feet this holiday season.

At this time of the year, there are just too many shoes to choose from for my shoe of the week. This week's  shoes from Kurt Geiger have a little bit of everything: platform, detail, mary-jane, killer heel and the orange colour is so hot.  I'm thinking of Christmas day with the family, wearing a chic grey jumper dress and these heels would be the perfect combination for the holiday season.

Getting 'leggy' with it

Image
I've been given some more products from the lovely people at Veneziana .   This time, I've tried out the Beatrice leg-warmers.  Its been a long time since I've worn anything other than tights and its nice to have a change. Great quality, the sizing was perfect (even for plus size) and its nice to try something a little bit different from black opaque.  The pattern and effect is quite sheer, but they're also 40 denier so you've got the warmth too. No sure what happened to the camera but I like the effect

Time to give those toes a workout

Have you heard? The latest surgery in America is for slimming down your tootsies!  For those suffering from ' toe-besity '  there's a surgical option to slim down those plump digits. Now, I'm having visions of toe workout sessions with mini-weights the size of cotton reels, a bootcamp training session for those chubby little toes and Davina McCall releasing a work out DVD.   I say, leave those toes alone!

How sweet are these Kandee shoes? Their name Tutti Frutti sums up them up perfectly.  The best 'shoe candy' I've seen for a long time.  Forget a Christmas selection box, I want these wrapped up in a bow under my Christmas tree this year.  Now, I must start writing my letter to Santa . . .

Booty call

Its autumn, there are 42 days until Christmas and there are lots of lovely 'autumny' things to be bought.  I am in retail envy at my friends and family's recent shoe purchases.  Clarks have a fab boot collection and my Aunt J has recently treated herself to a pair of their Kildale Drama boots.  They are ticking all the right boxes - chic, practical, classic and a little bit of a buckle detail. Available at Clarks , I've also posted a little Clarks' video to tempt your retail taste buds.

Time for Tweed

Image
Its time for me to ditch the black opaque tights and spend that little bit more on hosiery.  I admit, I've been a lazy shopper for a while just grabbing tights while doing the supermarket shop.  While I've saved some pennies, I've worn products that comprised on quality and comfort.  I'm giving my legs a break and saying no more to scratchy, bland tights.  Since the lovely people at Veneziana  have sent me some of their products to try out, I've had a re-think on quality over quantity and I've set myself an early New Year's resolution to make more of an investment in the products I want to wear. The  Tweed  tights are really cute, grey with little dotted flecks of colour, they're perfect for Autumn. I dug out some T-bar shoes I've had for a couple of years to wear with them.  I wish there was a way I could re-create the texture and feel of the tights for you via the photos, they were so soft and lovely to wear.  I've fallen in love with these

Match made in heaven

Just had to post a picture of these new limited edition Adidas trainers (pictured next to my purple Louboutins as I need any excuse to get them out!) I've always liked Adidas but when did trainers get so lush, they're too nice for boys!
